I know...

I know I may have let a lot of you down. an I have myself too. I am taking a week break. I am still tired, even after a full nights rest. I need to catch up on my sleep debt, and need to prepare myself for this better. For example I may find a project to start, because reading and learning isn't really fun while you are tired.

I am truely sorry, hope to catch ya next week.

A new start!

My first day of my new attempt! Now my starting time will be 11:00 AM EST. I am not documenting my first 24 hours because just about everyone has stayed up that long. I will, however, check in a few times and say whatever is on my mind. Thanks for all the support, wish me luck.

The lost hour

Shortly after posting the most recent posts last night, I decided to give every post it's own picture. I chose a streetlight for teh first post. The watermark on the logo makes the streetlight loko like it's being held by strings. I was looking at it and it started to sway realisticly. I asked if it was just me on IRC, and it my mind. Then I saw the red light in the top right turn bright.

I guess I was just getting to the point where I was hallucinating, it was a little cool, it was realistic and animated.

Ideas for things to do!

I have found to me, reading at this time is really bad. I have lots and lots of anime that needs watching. This site takes about 20 minuets each hour. From writing things down, to finding pictures.

What do you think I should do? Books is a no already. Post in the comments!

I made a mistake...

I was getting really, really tired, and couldn't hold on too much. I walked around until I was a little better, but I made a mistake. I decided to lay on my bed and watch TV. Big, huge, gigantic mistake. Next thing I knw it was 30 minuets to an hour later.

I am really disappointed at myself. I also realized from my first attempt, that I started again without enough time to recoup. I was still tired after that. This time I will give it two days, then restart. The second day will be preparing. I will try to get other foods that aren't sodium filled, and I'll try to eat better.

I am really sorry for my supporters, I am very thankful for you helping me and I will not let you down. I am doing this again and again until I atleast hit 72 hours.

Stay tuned because I will be back, checking in these two days I'm off.

Hour 38-39

My head is clearing up and I feel more normal. The energy I had is still there, just not as intense. Also my eyes are drooping kind of like I have to sleep, but I couldn't rest them if I tried. I am holding strong, but time is going by uber slow!

Thank you all my supporters!
craqbin, d3fault, djmullosk, and regret to name a few. Thanks, you keep me going.

Hour 37-38

I have started walking around every 30 minuets or so to keep blood flowing, and keep me more awake. It seems like time is going by really slowly.

We are on digg.com now! Vote for us here

Hour 36-37

I don't feel any difference from the last post. I am watching Family Guy and Futurama and it seems normal. I am really noticing that my keyboarding isn't up to par. It is slur-like if I don't take my time. I wonder what it'll be like in 10 hours :\.

We have been posted on reddit, http://reddit.com/info/7rjd/comments, and I am going to post us on digg to see what kinda of attention we'll get.

Man does this bed look good! :)

Hour 35-36

I am noticing a lot of changes that I should have seen. I have to think a tiny bit more about my keystrokes, When I read I don't comprehend it as fast as usual, and I am getting very impacient. One last thing I noticed myself forgeting 'deprivation' a lot while tying and having to sit and think about it.

I feel the same as the other posts basically.

Hour 34-35

I have just noticed that I'm not really hungry. I didn't have breakfast, lunch, and am just now eating two packages of ramen. Usually I eat a good amount of snacks. I didn none of that today. I feel the same as last post. I feel energetic, but also feels like my mind is coulded, but not enough to impair anything. I am going to start reading O'reilly's 'Learning Python' and we'll see how well I can concentrate, and comprehend.

Hour 33-34

I have been designing this blog, for the past hour. Whaddya think about my cool logo in the bottom right corner, eh? I feel a lot of energy and I am completely over "the hump". My mind seems a little more foggy and clutered then regular, but not much at all, I can think straight. This feeling is a lot better than the feeling of wanting to go to sleep, and it feels like you drank a red-bull or two.

Preface

**I am a 15 year old male, so things may be very different for you**

I stated this on 6/9/06 after I stayed up for 24 hours not even realising it. I remembered that I had a haircut in an hour and a half so I slept for about an hour. I decided to see how far I could go on some coffee and will power, 72 hours being the goal. I stayed up another 16-17 hours, but forgot about the nap, so I though I was on around hour 40.

I used my better judgment and went to bed, since the 24 hours before the nap were negated, and I was already tired from that. From waking up at around 8:00 on 6/11/06 I restarted my goal.

I am currently in the middle of hour 33, and since you missed out half of the expiriment I'll fill you in to what happened. The first 24-30 hours are the worst, you feel tired and you start going over "the hump". "The hump" is what I call the time when you stop feeling tired as much, but get spurts of sleepiness that make you want to give in. I almost did a few times, but I pulled through.

I will update this blog once an hour until I finally give in, and post tidbits of things in the middle of each if I have something to say. My minimum goal is 72 hours and I WILL go as far as I can after 72 hours.

SDP starts!

I have been wondering about the effects of sleep deprivation on my body, and the amount Of time I could stay awake. I can read all I want but that can't show me first hand.

This is not an attempt to break any records, I don't think I'll even get close to 11 days, but we'll see how far I can get!
